  • Purpose

    Sourcing & trading food & beverage raw materials & additives

    Scope of Tasks

    • Research, Review and Validation of new and existing Suppliers
    • Upfront commercial negotiation with Suppliers
    • Ensure Suppliers are consistently giving competitive prices
    • Manage Supplier Quality Assurance
    • Enforce Supplier factory visits and assessments
    • Preparation and documentation of Supplier visits
    • Qualification of Suppliers as per IPS’s qualification
    • Manage Suppliers database
    • Ensure clear information flow between Supplier and IPS
    • Identify sufficient potential new Suppliers & Products in advance
    • Identify sufficient alternative Suppliers for the same product lines
    • Create ‘Product Specification Brief’ for existing and new products
    • Identify Supplier issues on time and escalate to Regional Director if necessary
    • Resolve Customer Complaints and Supplier related problems within the IPS team; investigate order discrepancies with Suppliers
    • Check if enquiries sent by Sales Team can be met
    • Regular projects follow up & project list updates with sales team, preparing quotations, proforma invoices, calculation sheets and arranging product samples
    • Work in coordination with the subsidiary offices, logistics team and suppliers in maintaining the orders list for Raw Material Division.
    • Assist in implementing the sales strategy as set by the Regional Director, and in association with the contracted suppliers; including strategies for encouraging repeat business and up-selling.
    • Provide support and assistance to fellow team members of the raw material division, as needed, in order to meet the company/team goals and sales budget.
    • Providing Feedback to other Department Heads on performance of Team members
    • Give directions and guidelines for the Traders’ Assistant
    • Administrative jobs such as preserving important and confidential agreements between the company and the customers and/or suppliers.

    Scope of Responsibilities

    • Responsible for Supplier Relationship Management
    • Development of a unique and efficient tracking system for keeping a tab on daily operations.
    • Create and maintain a product database
    • Provide sales and product expertise to the sales team
    • Responsible for Line Management and recruitment of Traders’ Assistant
    • Maintain Supplier KPIs, e.g. Quality, Lead Time and Complaints

    Reports to the Chief Operations Officer  

  • Skills

    • Superior communications skills and command of the English language, both written and spoken
    • Spanish language skills would be beneficial
    • Finding and connecting with the suppliers and get the best price will be the main tasks
    • It will require frequent travels as well

    • 3-5 years experiences in this industry sector of commodity trading of raw materials and ingredients
    • A strong personality, good networker and negotiator
