Totapuri Mango Processing Volume Expected to be 10% Lower in 2018

Growing conditions for the next Totapuri crop from India, which will begin at the end of May, have favorable growing conditions in all areas of production. However, poor funding and larger-expected inventory is also predicted to cut-back processed volumes by 10% on last year. Stocks of Totapuri puree and concentrate are currently sitting at around 10 000 tonnes and 1000.

Mango madness fighting limited supply

Water scarcity and heat waves in India had a negative impact on the mango crop this season. With 40% less yield of Totapuri and 20% less yield of Alphonso compared to 2018, but continued high market demand, prices are anticipated to be significantly higher than the summer average (almost USD 200-300/MT more).
